It also grants Scorching Ray. You still run hand crossbows until 10th (Bladelock 5/Extra Attack of choice) or 11th (Fighter or Hunter), then Longbows can pull ahead with extra actions. That said, I prefer Thief 4/Battlemaster 8 for being a more well-rounded archer while still massacring everything the game has to offer.
