In response to Acadia Ray - My 2017 Acadia started showing the steering assist warning when starting the car, my check engine light was on, engine fans keep running on high and a/c stopped. I removed the negative battery connector, and reattached it as you suggested, and all is well!!!Temp gauge on a 2017 GMC Acadia doesn’t move off of C and A/C blows out hot air. The thermostat or ( water outlet as GM calls it) is sending false signal to the ECM. The electric power steering unit uses the temp signal to determine how much power it uses according to how cold the grease is in the unit.
