I turned off assisted dialing. I cleared the cache and storage of the phone app. I rebooted my phone. Went back into settings for the phone. I activated hold for me. I activated Direct my call. Move your voicemail to Google Voice. On your phone you need to setup CCF (conditional call forwarding). It's free, works great, that's what I use with Cricket on my Pixel 4a.
